Careful of the Kidneys
One of the most well-known toxic effects is juniper oil's irritation of the kidney. Juniper oil contains monoterpenes, which can over stimulate the kidneys. Since the stimulating effect is linked to kidney-tissue damage, therapeutic use of juniper oil should be undertaken with caution.
